Random Acts of Flyness
2 Seasons | 12 Episodes | TV-MA
Artist, musician, and filmmaker Terence Nance returns for a long-awaited second season of the acclaimed series Random Acts of Flyness. Exploring the metaphysics of Black life through avant-garde storytelling, the second season follows Terence (Terence Nance) and Najja (Alicia Pilgrim), a couple working towards healing generational wounds and reintroducing themselves to the ways of their ancestors. Each of the six episodes explores a different dimension while presenting a rich tapestry of audio and visuals to illustrate the spiritual practice of Black liberation.
First Dimension: The Meaning of Your Name
Najja Freeman -- all about those rituals -- murders a very cute bunny. Terence gets a reading that puts him on an uncomfortable flight path.
Second Dimension: Finna Hafta Teach You Swine Lovers
Najja and Terence don't have problems and love each other, but their wounds can't stand each other -- it's very layered I must say.
Third Dimension: G/D Does Not Submit & Other Applicab
At Glorious' birthday, Najja performs the ritual to end all rituals. Later, a rebirth leads to a revelation.
Fourth Dimension: Spacetime/Bodyspirit
In couples therapy, Najja and Terence play with space and time to return to the source of their wounds and the medicine of their ancestors.
Fifth Dimension: The Parable of the Pirate & the King
As he and Najja reunite with their ancestral lands, Terence speaks the parable of the pirate and the king. Which are you? Pirate or King?
Sixth Dimension: All Possibilities of Together & Apar
While Terence reaches out to his ancestors, a glitch in Ajjan leads Najja to imagine a practice of liberation.
