Mike Flaherty (Paul Giamatti) is a struggling lawyer...the wrestling team he coaches stinks...and money is so tight he's sneakily decided to become a paid caregiver to an aging client. When he's forced to take in the man's nephew--a troubled, but talented wrestler--Mike finally begins to enjoy a little luck...until the truth comes out and his bond with the youth is threatened.
