Veteran catcher 'Crash' Davis would like to hit one out of the park with frisky baseball groupie Susan Sarandon--who each season gives her heart to one Durham Bulls player. But Crash has some fresh young competition in a pitching prospect (Tim Robbins) who has a powerful arm, but sawdust for a brain. Can the cagey veteran school his young batterymate both on and off the field?
